Bigzzia Treadmill Review: worth buying?

Being sedentary, e.g. not walking enough, has severe consequences for your health. Your blood pressure and blood sugar levels skyrocket, you have sleep issues, and you’re always stressed. Plus, you don’t have enough energy for chores or your kids.

Studies reveal that most people in Britain take an average of 3,500 steps per day even though the NHS recommends 10,000.

But do you know that you can take about 7,500 steps while watching The Crown or while you’re answering calls at the office?

All you need is a slim, easy to transport treadmill to help.

The Bigzzia treadmill is compact and easy to transport but sports a powerful motor that turns it into an excellent piece of equipment for your home gym. Unlike other treadmills, you’ll receive it completely assembled so that you can start working out immediately.

Bigzzia has a 10 km/h speed limit, shock and noise reduction, plus an LCD screen with all the stats you need.

You’ll also like the anti-slip, anti-static belt and the 110 kg maximum weight.

But the Bigzzia may not be best for everyone.

Read this article to find out why. We’ll analyse all its pros and cons in terms of your needs so that you can make an informed decision.

Multi-speed

Bigzzia’s speed varies from 1 to 10 km/h, which means it’s best for beginner and intermediate levels.Remember that Bigzziamarkets this treadmill as an office under-desk piece of equipment, which means you probably don’t need more than 10 km/h when you’re at your office anyway.

Also, if you’re a beginner to intermediate or recovering from an injury, this speed limit is more than accommodating.

But, if you’re an expert runner, this treadmill might not be good enough for you.

And here’s another issue to factor in:

You’ll change the speed with an included remote control. The advantage is that you don’t have to stop or push any buttons to adjust the treadmill’s speed according to your needs. However, the problem for some customers is that the belt’s pace doesn’t change automatically when you move faster. Remember, though, that most treadmills in this price range don’t have this feature.

Plus, if you break the remote, the treadmill becomes unusable. Some customers complain about the batteries too because they’re the button type, which is harder to find than AAAs.

That said, we think the real issue is that the speed is the only thing you can adjust.

You can’t change the incline to work out your muscles harder and build endurance through low-impact exercises. You also can’t browse through an array of preprogrammed workouts that would make your training easier. The only thing you can do is hop on this treadmill and walk or run as fast as you can within the 10 km/h speed limit.

LCD Display

The LCD screen reads most stats you need to evaluate your progress, such as calories, distance, speed, and time. Bigzzia doesn’t have built-in heart monitoring, and you also can’t connect it to a separate heart-monitor. If you need this function, your best bet is to use a fitness watch or a stand-alone monitor.

Regarding this feature, some customers wish the treadmill would have a memory function so that they can remember their stats and visualise their progress.

In response to this grief, other customers say they write down their progress and that they can see the results in the mirror.

Again, for the price range, a heart-rate monitor would have been a real perk.

The biggest problem is that the LCD screen is thin plastic, about which some customers have noticed it’s a bit wavy and, therefore, not always easy to read, especially if you already have eye issues.

Portability

The Bigzzia treadmill is portable and compact so that it can fit well under a standing desk. That way, you can keep moving while you’re at the office to prevent any stiffness or pain. This sort of treadmill is especially reliable if you have pre-existing pain or posture issues.

However, that doesn’t mean you can only use the Bigzzia at the office.

Being so slim and weighing just 23.5 kg, you can easily use it at home.

Walk for an hour while watching your favourite show at a medium speed, and you can count up to 8000 steps. Add those steps to the 3,500 you’re already taking if you’re like most Britons, and you’ll be doing way better than the NHS recommendations.

After you finish your workout, you can easily store the Bigzzia under your bed, or anywhere you have the room.

Belt Size and Maximum Weight

The Bigzzia’s running platform measures 39 cm (width) x 102 cm (length).

Before we explain what this belt size means, remember we said the speed limit is 10 km/h, so this treadmill is best for beginner to intermediates.

Now back to the platform size.

Here’s the main issue:

Some customers complain they can’t run on the Bigzzia treadmill because the platform is too short.

And they’re right – if you’re tall, your maximum stride may exceed Bigzzia’s 102 cm. But, if you’re a beginner to intermediate running with up to 10 km/h and not very tall, you can make this treadmill work.

Also, the Bigzzia treadmill holds up to 100-110 kg. That’s a definite plus because even heavier people can squeeze in a great workout at an affordable price.

Therefore, the most significant advantage here is that the Bigzzia treadmill is a worthwhile investment for the whole family.

Shock and Noise Reduction

The Bigzzia treadmill has a sturdy 1.5 HP motor. In combination with the steel frame, the engine ensures a silent running experience.

All customers agree this fact is genuine. Of course, the Bigzzia isn’t 100% silent, but it’s quiet enough that you can talk on the phone, look at your favourite shows, or listen to your thoughts. Basically, you won’t disturb your neighbours or anyone inside your home or office.

In addition to this, the Bigzzia treadmill has a 5-layer shock-absorbing design. This design ensures extra cushioning for your joints and bones. If you have pre-existing pain or joint issues, this sort of shock-absorbing system is what you should be looking for in a treadmill.

And here’s another advantage:

The belt has a lawn texture, which is anti-slip and anti-static. The anti-slip bit means you don’t have to hold on to handles while you’re running because the treadmill is grippy and safe.

The anti-static bit regards the overall maintenance; considering the treadmill doesn’t attract dust, you’ll have to do less cleaning!

Shipping and Installation

If you read the reviews, you notice that some customers were wary of purchasing this treadmill because Bigzzia isn’t a famous brand. However, the seller is diligent and scrupulous about all customer service matters.

Therefore, most people who’ve written reviews about this treadmill are happy about receiving the package well before the deadline.

Another advantage is that this treadmill doesn’t require installation. You can use it right out of the box, and you don’t need another person to help you move it.

The only problem here is that you can’t use this treadmill on a carpet or a mat.

The motor cover is ABS plastic, and the motor placement is close to the ground. So, if you like intense workouts, know that the engine can heat up and ruin your carpet. Bigzzia includes heat dissipation within its official warnings, so don’t overlook this bit.

Sure, you might be a bit disappointed if you’re preparing for a marathon and you have to turn off your treadmill to allow it to cool down. But, if you’re in the target market of this Bigzzia treadmill, you probably won’t have this grievance.

Another problem is that you should run the treadmill for five minutes without anyone on it to ensure your product works properly.

Remember: Bigzzia doesn’t accept returns unless the product is faulty.

In Conclusion

Bigzzia Treadmill is a reliable piece of equipment that does precisely what the company says. This product is well made, and most of the cons we discussed above don’t affect the treadmill’s overall functionality.

We recommend the Bigzzia treadmill because it’s value-for-money and excellent for slow to brisk walking.

You and your entire family can use it, or you can enjoy it at the office with your standing desk. That way, you can avoid the plethora of health issues associated with being sedentary, such as high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and sleep issues.

All these issues cost a lot of money in the long-run, plus they can have irreversible effects on your health.

    • Hi Karen,

Sorry to hear about your remote! Assuming you bought it from Amazon, have you tried contacting the seller through their Amazon store account? It’s in their interest to help you out.

Go to the product page and click on their store name just underneath ‘Add to basket’ and ‘Buy Now’ on the right-hand side of the screen where it says ‘Sold by’ and ‘Dispatched by’, you’ll then be redirected to their Amazon store page where you can ask the question directly. Alternatively, Bigzzia recently created their own website but can only be contacted through e-mail https://www.bigzzia.com/pages/contact-us.

  1. completely agree – this is a fine treadmill if you’re happy to turn it off after 20 mins and let it cool down before using it again. which, I am, as I’m using it at a standing desk – so it’s perfect for me. it gets hot – but then it cools down again!
