Sportstech FX300 Treadmill Review – Best Features

The Sportstech FX300 offers you various advantages because it’s a sturdily built, functional machine. Here’s what you can expect:

Ultra Slim

The Sportstech FX300’s main selling point is its practical, slim design that folds down to 21 cm so that you can stow the FX300 under most furniture in your home.

Besides, you don’t need to worry about the setup because the FX300 comes ready for use. No excuses here!

Now you’re probably wondering if Sportstech FX300 is sturdy enough because usually foldable models lack stability.

Read along to find out.

Running Surface Dimensions

Sportstech FX300 has a running surface of 51 cm x 120 cm. Technically, this area can accommodate bigger people as well as those who prefer to sprint because it’s wide enough.

If we’re talking in absolute terms, 51 cm in width still leaves some room for errors and accidental slip-ups if you’re running very fast and if you’re a large person. That’s why we recommend treadmills that are at least 55 cm wide if you tick at least one of the boxes above.

But, considering the maximum 16 km/h speed and 110 kg weight that the FX300 can withstand, we’d say these running dimensions are enough.

* Chop.*

Another excuse for not working out fell.

And there’s another plus to the running surface:

Joint-Friendly Belt

The FX300 is safe for people with pre-existing joint pain or bone issues because it’s thickly padded with five layers. This shock-absorption technology guarantees you can run for longer without feeling any strain or pain.

There goes another excuse for not exercising.

Besides, the belt features a perforated anti-slip system to ensure you won’t fall off the treadmill even when you’re running at higher speeds.

Silent, Powerful Motor

The 2 PS DC motor is built with the so-called Super Silence Technology so that it keeps the treadmill under 60 decibels.

If you’re wondering what 60 decibels sound like, imagine a restaurant conversation or background music at your workplace.

Even your baby can sleep through your workouts if they’re the sort of special baby that actually sleeps.

Besides, the motor is powerful enough for a foldable treadmill considering that the Sportstech FX300 can achieve a 16 km/h maximum speed. Although that sort of speed isn’t best for athletes looking for HIIT, it’s still useful if you’re:

  • A beginner looking to scale up your fitness level
  • A sprinter
  • A marathon runner
  • Interested in recovering after an injury
  • Into low-impact walks

Entertainment Options

The FX300 has pretty good entertainment options for a foldable treadmill. We think that’s because Sportstech usually builds futuristic, technology-oriented home gym equipment.

There aren’t too many bells and whistles you can add to a foldable treadmill, though, and that’s why Sportstech stuck to the most important:

  • USB charging port for your devices so that you can listen to music
  • Foldable tablet holder so that you can follow your favourite shows

Having these alternatives is enough to keep you motivated while you’re running so that you’ll stick to your exercise routine long-term.

9 Programmes

The FX300 includes nine pre-programmed workouts so that you can find the right jam for your fitness goals. These programs cover most needs for your good days as well as your bad days.

Yaay, you can exercise even during your bad days!

Of course, more workout programs would have been better, but even so, the FX300’s current selection doesn’t disappoint. We would have also liked to see a memory option for workouts that you customise from scratch, but, alas, no treadmill is perfect.

But the best function in our humble opinion is:

The Smarttracking Mode

FX300 allows full tracking of your data with its indoor and outdoor tracking feature that’s compatible with both Kinomap and Fit Show. That way, you can record your progress and work out according to your needs.

Why do we like this feature so much?

Firstly, you can change your routine according to the improvements you’re making so that you can achieve your fitness goals faster. And that will keep you motivated for longer.

And secondly, you don’t see this feature in many foldable treadmills, which means the FX300 is garnishing its main selling point with all sorts of quality features.

Sportstech FX300 Treadmill Review – Worst Features

In the section above, we discussed FX300’s best features, although we noticed a few issues here and there. But in this section, you’re going to find out all the bad points about this treadmill.

We hope you’re ready because we’re not going to sugar-coat anything.

No Incline

That’s a huge disadvantage for people who are looking for challenging low-impact training options.

So all you can do without an incline is walk faster and faster until you start running, which becomes a high-impact workout.

But, if you’re training for a hike or want to build more lean muscle mass, Sportstech FX300 won’t help you too much.

The Fingerprint Mode

Even though it’s more expensive than other treadmills, the FX300 displays standard stats like the number of steps, calories, and distance.

The heart-rate option isn’t that reliable because it’s difficult to operate the fingerprint mode, especially when you’re tired and worked up. Pulse sensors in handlebars can feel weird if you want to have a constant display of your heart rate, but they’re more easy-to-use than the fingerprint mode.

So, if you need to train according to your heart-rate, you’d better get a separate chest strap.

The Storing Issues

sportstech fx300 ultra slim treadmill review

Although the FX300 collapses to a mere 21 cm height, it’s not easy for everyone to move the treadmill to a horizontal position before storage.

If you watch the company’s presentation video, you’ll notice a person that moves the treadmill quickly between positions, but the sad reality is that many customers can’t do these movements.

That’s because the FX300 is relatively heavy at around 60kg and it would require at least one more set of wheels for easy transport.

Is The Sportstech FX300 Right For You?

If you want a slim, useful treadmill for walking and running at moderate speeds, then yes. The FX300 is a sturdy, reliable product with generous dimensions and silent operation.

However, the FX300 may not be for you if you’re over 110 kg, you’re particularly tall, you want to run faster than 16 km/h or you need challenging low-impact training at an incline.

In Conclusion

Taking into account the features above, you could say that Sportstech FX300 is specifically designed for people who continuously make up excuses not to exercise.

That’s because FX300 is compact, but also resistant and quiet for moderate workouts. Plus, you have lots of entertainment options to keep you motivated, as well as smart tracking features to help you follow your progress.

Besides, the FX300 is impact-absorbing so that you can exercise for long periods without experiencing those uncomfortable jolts of pain you get from running on pavement.

We know the FX300 isn’t perfect. There’s no incline, the fingerprint mode is too difficult to use, and the array of apps is limited.

But, if you want to stop your inner voice from spewing excuses at you so that you can start getting healthier now, the FX300 is a reliable machine.
